I am a consultant urologist at Southmead Hospital. I received specialist urological training in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery in the Southwest of England, Cleveland (USA) and Austria. My special interest is in the management of kidney, testis and retroperitoneal cancers. I also manage other conditions including erectile dysfunction, prostate and bladder problems. I manage complex renal cancers with open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques, and currently one of the highest volume surgeons in the region. I have excellent expertise in Nephron-Sparing surgery and am currently one of the few surgeons in the UK performing minimally invasive surgery (keyhole) for post-chemotherapy Retro Peritoneal Lymph Node Dissection for testicular cancer.
In addition to managing a variety of other urological conditions, I have a special interest in andrology and perform corrective surgery for penile curvature and penile implants for erectile dysfunction.
I am currently the Lead for Training and Education at the Bristol Urological Institute and in charge of the Fellowship Training Programme. I also manage a wide variety of general urological problems; every patient has unique needs and circumstances and this should be the guiding principle of any intervention.
